My quick rule of thumb is that if something gets handled without too much back-and-forth, I’m happy. They helped me out, and it only took one follow-up to get everything sorted.

The price is okay, okay overall, but I do think it could be a bit cheaper. Not a bad deal, just not the best either.

Backblaze does the backup part well, so I can’t act like it’s a disaster or anything. My files are getting backed up, and that part has been okay. But the privacy/encryption setup? Oh my gosh, I was way more confused than I expected to be. I went in thinking it would feel super locked down and obvious, and instead I was sitting there like, wait… who has what key, and how private is this really? Support was decent and didn’t make things worse, which I appreciate, but I really wish the security options were explained in a way normal people can understand without spiraling into a mini cybersecurity crisis. I’m keeping it for now because it works, but I’m definitely not walking around feeling 100% confident about it

I’ve had good success with it overall. I’m assuming it usually works reliably based on my experience, though I did have one fail on me once. Still, aside from that one issue, it’s been fine.

I've been using Backblaze on my laptop, and honestly... it mostly just does its thing in the background. It seems to back up almost everything without me having to think about it, which is exactly what I wanted. My only gripe is that the excluded file types and folders could be a little more obvious, I had to dig around to see what wasn’t actually included. But for regular photos, documents, and day-to-day stuff, it’s been really solid so far!

I had a hard time finding what I was looking for. The layout just feels a little outdated and not super easy to navigate. It could definitely use a refresh

What made it more annoying is that there’s basically no real human contact when you need help, so it feels like you’re just stuck figuring it out on your own. It’s not completely useless, but for me it’s not good enough

I mostly care about download speed when it comes to backups, and Backblaze has been better than I expected. Restores start quickly, and they don’t drag on forever like a few other backup services I’ve tried. Even large zip downloads came through faster than I thought they would on my regular home Wi-Fi. So far, I haven’t had any weird pauses or failed downloads. It’s not flashy or anything, but it does what I need, and the speed has been solid

My laptop randomly died on me, of course right when I had a bunch of stuff I hadn’t backed up properly because I kept meaning to “do it later.” I ended up using the hard drive restore option, and it took a few days to get to me, which felt longer than it probably was since I kept thinking about old photos and random work files I needed. When it arrived, everything I was looking for seemed to be there, and copying it back over was straightforward. Sending the drive back was a little bit of a hassle, mostly because I had to remember to actually do it, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, I’m happy with how it worked out.
